You can observe game at the river in complete safety while contemplating on one of the many comfortable seats on the shady outside terraces. Or you can just let your eye wander over the green bush. Who knows what’s to be discovered there….

The smooth surface of the Sweni River water reflects the magic of apparently impenetrable nature. And yet again and again, lions, leopards and other wild animals penetrate the bush on their way to the river.

They remind you a bit of abstruse palm trees - the cactus-like euphorbia trees which take root everywhere here. They grow unhindered through the timber slats of the sun-deck. That’s just the way it is in the Sweni Lodge: nothing is restricted and everything is in tune with nature.

The wooden lamps with their random weaving are also testimony of the South African handicraft.

What appears to be an oriental bazaar here is actually the colourful breakfast buffet on the outside terrace of the Main Lodge. Exotic treats, a cafeteria opening to the outside and lots of comfortable seating invite you to enjoy your meal in the open air.

In the large communal pool, you can enjoy even the strongest midday sun without any trouble at all. Comfortable sun-loungers with protective sun-roofs offer the opportunity to enjoy an amorous hour or two together after a refreshing dip in the pool.

African elements of style, earthy tones, Kudu leather, woven bast and pale green khaki. It seems as if you have arrived at a resting-place in the middle of an exciting safari to enjoy inner peace in the presence of wild nature. And that’s just the way it is.

Glass creates transparency. And transparency creates bonds. Between tall glass facades, the interiors and exteriors of the private luxury suites blend into one another. You just sit down anywhere you fancy. Under the shade of tall trees or the roof of the spacious interiors. Comfort predominates everywhere and glass facades open all round on to rays of light tinged with green.
